We are an organisation of volunteers dedicated to supporting and fostering arts and culture in the Bellingen Shire. We
link with other community bodies, Local Government, the Ministry, NGOs and other service providers to achieve positive
outcomes for the arts. These include grant applications, insurance support, facilitating live performance and visual art
exhibitions.
B.C.A.C. Membership is $25 per annum. Membership forms can be downloaded or
are available at the Gallery or contact artscouncil@bellingen.com
to join. As part of our commitment we operate a gallery called the Nexus Community Gallery. Our premises are at Shop 7,
the Old Butter Factory complex, Doepel Street, Bellingen.
NEXUS COMMUNITY GALLERY
The Nexus Community Gallery is a fresh new exhibition space located in the Bellingen
Old Butter Factory complex.
The gallery, with its chameleon nature, is transformed on a monthly basis through diverse group and solo shows.
The success of the Nexus Gallery has come about through the dedicated support from our members and volunteers and the vision
of our current committee.
The BCAC is run by a dynamic group of committed people whose professional approach to their volunteer positions is integral to
the present growth and success of the Council.
With a membership of over 300 artists, generous sponsors and friends and ongoing support from art lovers and patrons we are continuing
to reach our goals. Download a membership form.
The Nexus Gallery, the annual Bellingen Art Prize, the quarterly Nexus Newsletter and the opportunity for members to exhibit
regularly in the gallery are just some of the ways the BCAC is fulfilling its charter for the continuing growth and support of
community regional arts.
