Getting to Crystal Creek Cottage is easy. Coming from the south, exit the Pacific Highway shortly after Urunga. Travel west on The Waterfall Way for 10kms and to Bellingen.

Turn right at the Bellingen Post Office and cross the Bellinger river. At the roundabout turn left into Wheatley Street, sign "GLENIFFER" and leave Bellingen town. Another 2.2 kms the road forks - you take the right fork, sign "GLENIFFER, PROMISED LAND".

The road disappears into forest. You are watching for Koalas and Wallabys. The view west at sunset is spectacular. In a short 6kms you come down onto the flats of Gleniffer. Travel past the School of Arts Hall and the nearby Gleniffer Church (the inspiration of Peter Carey's novel "Oscar and Lucinda") and hall.

Cross the bridge immediately after the hall. Continue. The road turns to gravel. After 3kms from the start of the gravel, look for the Schofiled's property on the left.

Traveling by Car
Bellingen is approximately halfway between Sydney and Brisbane. Most people access the area via the Pacific Highway, which has been substantially improved in the last few years. Driving time between Bellingen and Sydney is between 6 1/2 hours and 7 hours depending on rest stops. During holiday periods there is an extensive network of Driver Reviver stops up and down the Pacific Highway north of Sydney.

Traveling by Air
You arrive at Coffs Harbour Airport, 35 kms north of Gleniffer. Taxis are available for onward travel.

Traveling by Train and Bus
**Please check the following details before your journey**. Countrylink's XPT service departs Sydney Central at 7:15am, 11:35am, and 4:24pm each day, arriving at Urunga Train Station at 3:28pm, 8:06pm and 12:34am respectively. Greyhound and McCafferty's buses depart Sydney for the North Coast daily.
